About thermal spraying technologies

Thermal spraying is a group of coating processes, in which metallic or nonmetallic materials are deposited in a molten or semimolten state to form a coating. The coating material may be in the form of powder, ceramic-rod or wire.


Thermal spraying can provide coatings from 20 microns up to few mm, over a large area and at high deposition rate as compared to other coating processes.


There are a number of different process variations, for example plasma spraying, high-velocity oxygen fuel  spraying, arc spraying or cold gas spraying, which are used for processing in a large range of materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers and composites into functional coatings.

Description of the technology

The proposed Technological Solution is based in the production of a low cost Solid Oxide Fuel Cell by using a unique process resulting in a very important improvement comparing with other alternative technologies used, which require different steps and treatments during the production process.
