Geometry and Microstructure Control of Remanufactured Metallic Parts by Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing

Thermal Spray Center recently published an interesting research paper in Materials journal. The paper deals with one of the major challenges of Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing: to improve the geometrical accuracy of the sprayed parts, along with overcoming the inferiority of the mechanical properties. For this, Cu, Al, Ti, and Ti6Al4V substrates were reconstructed by two Cold Spray (CS) methods: Traditional and a novel strategy for powder deposition, Metal Knitting.
