Last 11th December, the Thermal Spray Center (CPT) was prized with the Antonio Caparròs award for the best knowledge transference project, called Transformació d’una empresa mecànica mitjançant l’accés als nous mercats de l’enginyeria de superfícies amb la col·laboració de la Universitat de Barcelona (Transformation of a mechanical company through access to the new markets of surface engineering with the collaboration of the University of Barcelona). The prize was collected by the CPT Director Dr. Eng. Irene García Cano, who talked about the value of knowledge transference between University and enterprises, thanking to TMComas, our collaborator Dr. Joan Ramon Miguel, as well as our former Director and CPT founder Dr. Josep Maria Guilemany, for impulsing this project since 1994. The Antonio Caparròs award was given inside the frame of XV Premis del Consell Social of the University of Barcelona and the XII of Fundació Bosch i Gimpera, which was celebrated at the Historical Building. This event was presided by the rector of the University Joan Elias, and presented by the President of the Social Council, Joan Corominas, and the Director of Fundació Bosch i Gimpera, Carme Verdaguer. At this event, researchers, research groups from several areas and enterprises are recognised for their contribution to research and development.
